Family Notes
Family genealogists credited Mary Ann Wentworth Brown Williams with designing the Vermont State Seal, although other sources attribute the design to Ira Allen.
Norman Williams was valedictorian of the first graduating class of the University of Vermont on August 18, 1810. He later served as registrar of probate for the Hartford district of Vermont and was Secretary of State of Vermont from 1823 to 1831.
