Family Notes

Abijah Savage was commissioned a lieutenant in the French and Indian Wars. Captured in December 1755 at Quebec, he spent 14 months as a prisoner on a ship on the Saint Laurence River. After release he was made captain. He raised a company and served in the Revolutionary War. He was a shipwright and a founder of the Society of the Cincinnati.
